We are sorry to announce there will no longer be a FC Computer Tech Club
The Board’s search for members to serve on Ford’s Colony Computer & Technology Club (FCC&TC) board has been unsuccessful. As we shared with you, our current board of directors has served admirably for many years including during the period of COVID-19. Most of our board have served well over five years and it was time for the club to prepare for the future. We appealed to all current and former members to consider becoming a board member. Our goal was to recruit three to five new board members to lead the club going forward. Several current board members had agreed to continue to serve for at least another year and assist the new board members with the affairs of the club. Over 100 members were contacted by email on June 18 with a 2nd follow up request in early July. We had responses from only twenty-nine (29) members of which twenty-five (25) advised they did not have any interest and four (4) indicated they may have interest. Howard Maltz, a current board member, contacted the four “maybes” individually to affirm their joining the board. Each of these individuals ultimately decided not to join the board.
So, the current board has voted unanimously to wind down and dissolve Ford’s Colony Computer & Technology Club.
Current club assets will be donated to the Ford’s Colony Activities Executive Board Fund. We thank you all for your support over the more than twenty-five years that the club has served the Ford’s Colony community.
